One question that I’m asked at least a few times each week, is if I have any recommendations for the best devotionals for women. As an avid reader, who spends daily quiet time with God, and one who writes reviews on Christian books and products, I’ve come across quite a few good (and not-so-good) ones.
In this post, I’ll share with you some of my favorites devotions for women and those that come highly recommended by my readers.
I’m sure you’ll find your next devotional on this list!
Embraced is a beautiful new devotional from Lysa TerKeurst for women at every stage of life's journey! Through these 100 devotions, daily scriptures, and prayer prompts, you'll be reminded daily that God doesn’t pull back from your sharp edges.
Sharing her own struggles and doubts while pointing to the Ultimate Embrace (Jesus opening His arms wide on Calvary so that He could pull us close for eternity), she helps readers understand that because we have been fully embraced by Him, we can spend our lives trusting His ways.
Topics in Embraced include personal identity, friendship, decluttering, self-worth, parenting, marriage, decision making, and other "sticky statements" from Lysa. Includes a handy topical index.
The world wants you to place your trust in your circumstances, your success, your talents and the opinions of others. But God's called you to rise above the world, and put your full trust in Him - to believe and apply what He's promised in His Word more than anything else.
Living this way won't just happen - you have to be intentional. But where do you begin? We all need help to make good choices, battle worry, overcome anxiety and keep a positive attitude. Using this devotional, readers will learn to grab hold of life this way, day by day, with trust in God.
Renowned Christian author and speaker Priscilla Shirer shares her first devotional for women.
Alone with God. Alone with His Word. Eager to hear His voice. Prepared to humbly and obediently respond. She hopes, more than anything else, that the daily insights you receive in these pages will challenge, encourage, and strengthen you in every way.

Everything in our world that can be shaken will be shaken. And yet, the Bible assures us it doesn’t matter what happens politically, morally, socially, or economically in the world around us if we have Christ in us—if we have the kingdom of God within us—because His kingdom is Unshakeable.
In this daily devotional, bestselling author, speaker and activist Christine Caine will take you on a year-long journey of building your faith in our Unshakeable God. Through inspiring personal stories and powerful scriptures, she will equip you to live boldly and courageously, fully trusting our faithful God. She will inspire you how to activate living your life on mission. Unstoppable. Undaunted. Unashamed. Unshakable. (If you have not read the book, Undaunted, by Christine Caine, I encourage you to check it out. It changed my perspective on so many things! To God be the glory!).
We all have hard days--the kind that make us want to give up, retreat inside ourselves, and drown our sorrows in a pint of ice cream. And while we may crave all sorts of things to ease the pain we feel, what our hearts really need is to be filled up with truth. We need to be confident in God's character and his promises. We need to remember we're loved no matter what. We need to know we're going to be okay.
In this uplifting book, Wall Street Journal bestselling author, licensed counselor and certified life coach Holley Gerth shares the strength, peace, and hope that come from knowing who God is, how much he cares for us and why we can trust he'll get us through whatever we may face. Each of the 52 devotions based on the Psalms will help weary women remember that God is faithful, we're all in this together and there's a good plan for our lives.
Another great devotional for women by Lysa TerKeurst, Unglued is a companion devotional to the bestselling book Unglued (you don't need to have read that book to gain from this devotional) and provides encouragement to help readers handle emotional struggles. Including a daily opening Scripture, Thought for the Day, devotion, and closing prayer, this book helps readers begin a 60-day journey in learning to positively process raw emotions, such as fear, anger, and regret.
God has created you to be confident, bold, and free-free to be yourself, free from the need to compare yourself to others, and free to step into His destiny for your life.
Based on her #1 New York Times bestseller The Confident Woman, Joyce Meyer taps into concerns and issues that many women commonly experience-lack of confidence, poor self-image, dysfunctional relationships-and provides encouragement and practical wisdom to help resolve problems in those areas of life. In today's busy, fast-paced world, it's easy to forget the need to slow down and live in the present, while holding on to personal "baggage" that's keeping you from being the woman God created you to be. But this powerful daily devotional, revised and expanded with new insights, inspirational quotes, and practical action items, will help you on your journey toward a confident life filled with love, laughter, and God's acceptance, one day at a time.
Are you worn out and overwhelmed by your never-ending to-do list? Multitasking. Taking care of family and friends. Driving carpool. Running errands. Filling out paperwork. Meeting deadlines at work. In today’s do-it-all world, women are busier and more tired than ever juggling the roles of mom, executive, volunteer, student, wife, friend, and everything in between. We’ve all been there – feeling frenzied and desperate as we try to keep it all together. Some days it feels like we’re managing everything well, but more often than not, it feels like everything is managing us. It is easy to become emotionally, physically, and spiritually exhausted. But it doesn’t have to be that way. It is possible to experience a life of peace and find rest for your soul – even with life’s demands. Find Rest will help you find peace in God's arms.
When you're having one of those days, you just want to know that someone is on your side. You have more than just someone . . . you have your Heavenly Father! He is with you. He is for you. He hears your heart's cry. And He will reassure you of this through the beautifully designed, hardcover devotional collection, God Hears Her. The personal stories, Scripture passages, and inspirational quotes pulled from Our Daily Bread devotionals will lift you up and remind you that God is bigger than the trials you face. God Hears Her contains 365 daily devotions written by women for women.
We can speak in abstracts all day long. We can ponder who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him. But he wants our confession. He wants to know, “Who do you say that I AM?”
How we answer defines our lives both now and forever. This study in the “I AM” statements of Jesus will help women move from knowing about Him to knowing Him personally. Guiding them through significant questions Jesus asks in the Gospels—and the answers He himself provides—it will help readers:
Realize the truth of who Jesus really is Grow in their ability to trust God and rely on Him fully Find the calm and peace promised in Scripture despite life circumstances

This one is specifically for wives and is one that I literally keep on my nightstand and refer to when I pray for my husband. While not exactly a devotional for women, I have used it to pray for my husband daily by following the book. Rich with related scripture and biblical truths, it is a must-have for Christian wives, in my opinion.
you will find fresh inspiration on how to pray deeply for areas of your husband's life--his thought life, sexual life, business life, emotional life--and discover new ways to ask God to encourage and direct your spouse.
Drawing on her own personal experience of praying for her husband at a difficult time in their marriage, Stormie wants to walk with you on this journey through revealing questions and suggestions to help you focus on God and His plan for your husband and your marriage. By asking and trusting God to build up, encourage, and direct your husband, you will experience renewed intimacy and a deeper spiritual union with God.
The Power of a Praying Wife continues to be a bestseller for women (more than 28 million copies sold).

A mother and daughter relationship is one of the most important and defining relationships in life. Just like when we braid our daughter’s hair, as we raise our girls we weave three strands together: our faith and their faith, together with God’s love. If we can do this well, the cord is not easily broken.
In this weekly devotional there are common themes supported by scripture, with one reading specifically for mothers, the other for daughters. Each week is intended to generate connection and conversation, with questions included to spark discussion.
Ties That Bind is a year-long journey together will deepen your faith, and your relationship in addition to offering introspection and personal growth for women of every age.
Some of these books are available for free on Amazon Kindle (you can read from a Kindle device, your computer or even your phone).
