Are you an Instagram junkie? Are you looking to follow Christian Instagram accounts to encourage your walk with God?

I love to browse Instagram not just to see what my friends and family are up to, but to get inspiration and ideas. I wanted to share with you some of my favorite Christian Instagram accounts. Some will make you laugh, others cry, but most will inspire you and remind you that God is good all the time!

I love social media as a ministry as God can use so many methods to bring someone to Christ. You never know who He will impact and draw to Him simply by a post on social media.

So, on to Christian Instagram accounts…

I’ve broken them down into two sections:  Inspirational accounts and Women ‘s Christian Instagram accounts. I pray that you find a gem or two that you will enjoy.

Proverbs Daily

I was a shell of a human being. By the time I was 20 years old, my drinking progressed to the point where I was emotionally and spiritually isolated from everyone around me. I abandoned my childhood faith and thought if God was real, He wouldn’t want anything to do with a person like me. But I was given a beautiful solution to my addiction when I joined a 12-step fellowship and was able to reconnect with God. Recovery has allowed me to regain my family’s trust, maintain genuine friendships, graduate from college, have a healthy relationship with my boyfriend, keep a job, and feel a sense of purpose through helping sick and suffering alcoholics and addicts. Recovery has transformed my idea of God and the personal relationship I have with him today. The most transformative, faith-renewing part of this journey has been talking about God with other alcoholics and addicts. No matter what kind of struggles you have overcome, your story can help others. I used to feel so much shame over the things I did, but I know God is using my past to help others in the same situation. The only reason why I’m able to do this is because someone else showed me the way by sharing their experience. I’m so thankful to now be that person for others. My walk with God hasn’t been perfect. There have been times where I questioned him, even in sobriety, but I find He always brings me back to the truth. God never turned His back on me when I was stuck in addiction; I turned my back on God. He’s always been there and will continue to be there. Not just for me, but for anyone who reaches out to seek His love.

I don’t have to tell anyone how difficult this year has been. With the global pandemic, social injustice, and all the lives, jobs, and businesses that have been lost—fear and anxiety are at an all-time high. But yet, God is still with us. I might have been surprised about the many disappointments this year, but God was not. In fact, He told us in John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that you can have peace because of me. In this world you will have trouble. But be encouraged! I have won the battle over the world.” So how does one stay hope-filled and faith-filled even in the midst of disappointments? Here are some things I’ve discovered about disappointment this year… Name it – It’s helpful to name our disappointments by crying it out, journaling, or sharing with loved ones. And there’s something beautiful in knowing that regardless of the discouragement and disappointment, we can go to the Lord, and “He will hear my cry.” Psalm 40:1 Grieve it – While it may be easier to suppress, ignore, and continue life as usual, when we allow ourselves to grieve, we can begin healing. Use it – No matter the situation, God can use our stories to bring hope, encouragement, and healing, whether in our lives or someone else’s life. Worship God – When we fix our gaze on God, we will see the many ways God is showing up in our lives, take count of what we do have, count our blessings, and enjoy His presence. God loves us and is with us, even in the midst of our disappointments. And His plans are good, even when our circumstances do not feel good. Last week, my daughter called me crushed in spirit, grieving the repeated postponement of her wedding because of the pandemic. I reminded her that our world may be changing but our God is not. Life may be unfolding, but blessings are falling and good things are coming. In fact, they’re already here.
